That’s the workflow I’ve been using since PS2 came out. When I save to Targas with alpha the background comes out white. Very handy. Did you check out Kinemac?

I would do this job in Kinemac, an AMAZING new 3D program. There’s about a dozen samples of 3D movie and TV screens flying around on their Web site. I swear, if you take just about an hour or so to read their manual (that’s how simple it is) you could have this done before lunch. All you will need is a TV image, your actor movie and whatever movie you want in the TV. The demo is free so you can try it out, and the license costs only $250. Plus, on a G5 with a fast card it is real-time. It is truly unbelievable.

Hey David,
Thanks for the thoughts. Just for grins I tried one of my own suggestions, opened the damn thing up in Disc Utility and it saw it, so I tried making a disk image of it and that worked too, then I just burned a DVD! SOB it all worked!

Hi Pat,
Yes, the FCP text generator sucks, but there Title 3D from Boris that comes with it which is quite good. There’s also a bunch of other third-party text tools you can get such as CHV’s Text Collection which is great.
Not sure what you mean by your second question, are you trying to drag clips around in the canvas or slip the video in them? Up in the top right-hand section of the canvas window, select image and wireframe and you can easily drag footage around, but when you get it close you should open the clip in the viewer and set the integers to even ones.
