Don’t know much about the glass thing, but you can map a tiff or targa of your logo to any face on the extrusion, all in one layer. The bitmap image must be cropped to the exact edges of the logo on all four sides. Put it in your comp and set up layer map 1 to be that layer, then apply it to your logo in the materials tab.

Making the same assumption as Shane, that you’re trying to convince your bosses that FCP is “better” than something else, even if you print the feature lists side by side, they will likely still vote for Speed Edit, or whatever, scrolling to the ever-present bottom line. They will likely point to You Tube for examples of everyman edits which were done on a shoestring or less and which are, brilliant. Tough battle my friend. I will just say that if you were stuck on a desert island with Speed edit and a power supply, you would likely become a master with it.
If the story were FCP vs. Premiere or something that takes price out of the equation, different ball game. I fought that battle myself 6 years ago with the company I worked for then, and fortunately, FCP won out!

I’ve only tried MB’s demo, much prefer the Nattress set, but even with them I sometimes notice a little flicker when it is working in 24p mode. This is quickly solved by changing to 30p, which I nearly always use. Don’t know if MB gives you this option though…

You need the latest version of Compressor, sorry. If you have the budget, look into Compressor 2, and check out Episode and Squeeze.

Squeeze and Episode also do Flash export, plus a ton more great stuff.

Compressor will make a muxed mpeg 2. It’s down near the bottom, called muxed m2v.

Just play around with it in the distort tab in the viewer. No set rules, do what looks best. If you don’t crop it too much the quality should be okay.

I have converted WMVs to QTs in Episode. You might be able to do in Cleaner, but I don’t know the settings. You still will have to uprez it in all likelyhood, you can use Compressor for that.
