I’ve been rendering flagged shots in resolve 9 with no problems (in both source and target modes), formats were F65 (.mxf) and Alexa (Prores444).

July 27, 2012 at 7:51 pm in reply to: v9 log mode: Where can I get another track ball for my wave?this is totally unofficial but my last talk with BM tech support said that the element mapping would remain the same for V9. So i understood that as meaning no log support on the panels. Anyone from BM want to chime in on this? Would love it if there was.

I’m with Sascha, 3rd party plugins would be a great answer to this issue (instead of rebuilding something from the ground up). And I would pay whatever it takes to pull some cleaner keys as this has frustrated me a bit over the past few years.

I had the same setup on one of my mac systems, and swapped the GT120 for my GTX285 as gui, and put 2 GTX580’s (3gb) in the cubix. gets pretty solid performance and the 285 does well with other apps with its 240 cuda cores.

Correct Peter, two streams of r3d files playing together (dissolving between each other). So I guess its the fact that I only have one red rocket. Would really love to know if other people have experienced this? Would a 12 core system make a difference? (I’m wondering if a bit more CPU power would help put me over the top at half rez good at least).

yes, have tried that, it does work. Was hoping that I could avoid that though (very transition heavy project, and its been requiring reconforms constantly as well, so I lose all my renders when I head to the conform page, clients get a bit antsy when that happens and they have to wait around for it again). Any thoughts on where the bottleneck might be?

June 27, 2012 at 3:16 pm in reply to: Slow Performance on GTX 285 (GUI) + GTX 580 3gb Combo (Cubix)Yeah, I guess I had just expected having 512 cuda cores (in the 580) would lead to faster performance than the total 480 in the 2xGTX285’s right? I guess in this case, two slower cards are better than 1?

May 25, 2012 at 2:55 pm in reply to: Projectors Once Again – Anyone Looked at the JVC 4K Reference Series?Joakim, really appreciate your insights into the 60, that’s great to hear. I spoke to David Abrams at Avical and he confirmed your thoughts on that projector line, emphasizing that as long as the Davio was in-line he could always keep it well calibrated to the DCI-P3 standard. It’s looking like we’re going to put a flanders in there for Rec finishes and use the JVC for P3 only.
