I think you will find that the only way to do this is the hard way…by recreating everything. It has always been that Ae has not been backward compatible and i’ve never yet heard of a program that does what you want before…Maybe there is a way if you find some one technical enough to write you an application…but i doubt Adobe give out any info on the .aep file format.

Just as a side note, be sure to keep an eye on any cast shadows. You will want to also remove that part of the leg also if it is visible. If your not using any motion ccontrol shots it just means painting/cloning in more background which “can” be a real pain in the butt…even more so now you have cast shadows to think about!

I`ve not seen this before but I think I understand what it may look like seeing someone mentioned the sharpen feature. When you crank up say unsharp mask you get heavy contrast on the image often when pushed really dark/light areas together.

How about using your key and offsetting a copy of it in the direction of where the black outline is and using it as an alpha matte so your left with a thin strip that would follow where the black area is left on the original key (im assuming it follows around the image similar to a really thin dropshadow effect would look like). You could then use this matte to treat/erode, soften the original key and just the area that is causing you the most grief.

Just a thought like I say ive not encounted this before.

-m lets you run multiple copies of AE on the PC, so u can have 2+ projects open. Normally you can only run the single version.

  • I wasnt aware of having to bake the animation so this is very useful to know, thankyou.
I guess I will need to do some simple tests and alot of reading on how I might be able to make a script to automate this alittle.

I had hoped that maybe someone might of done this before but hey ho 😛

If anyone else has any experiences on this id love to know

January 14, 2007 at 1:41 am in reply to: laptop keyboard 000

I find on my laptop if I set num lock on (ie permantly) the keyboard still works as if its letters, but because num lock is on I now only need to do the Fn key and the 0 key (m) with out needing to press num lock key to do ram-previews.

Dont know if this is how your working at the moment or if your keyboard works in a similar fashion. Ive got quite used to it now though and use the Fn key like shift or ctrl, like I say though I have my num-lock always on.

    All the best

  • I would definatly go with a suggestion of this sort, it’ll be something I need to look into more. Im guessing it would be easier if I was at a large posthouse that had links in America or shared workloads as it might be easier to find 2 people with similar skills to swap countries.
Thanks for the input Nick my apoligies for not noticing your reply earlier.

Wishing everyone best wishes for the new year
