If the newspaper has a web-site, like you’ve said, then someone there has the responsibility of Web-Master. I’d get in contact with him/her and ask what format they prefer, and then we here can help you figure out how to achieve that.

I think your large “spherical” starfield is the right way to go. Just remember that these stars are extremely far away, so your starfield is going to have to be pushed back from the camera to the max amount and scaled up accordingly. There is a plug-in from Red Giant called Horizon that would help. Or check out the tutorials from Carl Larsen “Building a Cube World 1-4”.

Why not post it on You-Tube or something similar, and have the website embed the video. E-mailing an entire video seems a bit absurd, due to the enormous file size it may turn out to be. At least snail-mail a DVD of the final product.

Try using a color other than red. Red type can cause distortion.

    Lars,
I haven’t ever edited any HD footage yet, I’m still working with DV. However, I know I will be relatively soon. If you find a better workflow, let me know. One question I have for you is how did you make the 576i from the 1080i originals?

Hiya, Lars. What if you make dupe DV rez AVI’s from the originals – so they are identical in content – and edit those on the HD timeline. Then make those files offline when you are done the edit, and re-link to the originals before rendering? Seems like that should work.

so you mean I should zoom on the TV screen and then zoom-out and dissolve to the zoom-out?
So when I have the camera on the TV, is there no flicker? If so how can I avoid the flicker?

You will be dissolving from your already edited “TV” footage to a live shot of the same “TV” footage playing on a television set, where your camera then zooms out to reveal people watching.

You may also want to look into averaging multiple tracks using an expression. Or using MochaAE to track instaed of the point tracker.

You have the right idea. Use the real camera to zoom out of the TV. Just dissolve to this zoom-out right before it happens and you will minmize any flicker. AE would be easier to sync the two shots, but I’m sure it can be done in PPro.

The way I see it you need four Comps.

    Comp 1: Master Set
Comp 2: Precomp of Master Set with Left Eye camera
Comp 3: Precomp of Master Set with Right Eye camera
Comp 4: Render Comp with Left and Right Comps combined

Then all your tweeks are done in comp 1 and everything else updates accordingly.

    No?
