odd way of labeling generated media (no biggie)
can’t move timeline cursor much past last segment. (no biggie)

“Missing a proper titling plug”

I’ve heard this before and it makes no sense to me.
What is wrong with the titling app in vegas?
If you look at most other NLE’s you will find the
titler in vegas is actually quite good and among
the best.

What Impressed me the most was that you can actually
create a rolling title that runs clear and smooth
on screen. Most NLE’s create jittery un-professional
looking title scrolls and there’s nothing that can
be done about it except for a 3rd party solution
or using after effects.

I must say the printable surface of the Ritek/Ridata is really good.

By default I always have to desaturate the image a little from clients
otherwise the discs are a little wet and waisting ink when they come out.
ideally they should be saturated enough for good color, but nearly
all dry by the time the printing is done. I use a rimage sig 4 printer though.

I’ve had several clients bring in mpeg2 files for me to author as 16:9
because iDVD would not flag the content properly and letterbox
the material on 4:3 projects.

I thought it would have been fixed by 5.0 but I guess not.

I’ve heard from some DVD-Lab Pro users that most all of the
early build bugs have been worked out and it is now quite
solid with every new release.

I had that problem once before and vegas was not on
that machine.

I don’t recall what the fix was, but it was easy.

You might also consider doing 2 DVD’s, both anamorphic,
but one flagged as anamorphic and one not.

Some screens won’t fill or scale as nicely and more than once
I’ve had anamorphic non-flagged DVD’s that looked better than
the flagged one.

(flagged meaning 16:9 setting in mpeg encoder/authoring software)

This drive of yours (sony) will only burn DVD+R/-R at 4x.

no DL support.

I think you’ll find that impossible with any type
of mpeg compressor. The dimensions have to be a
certain ratio or it will have an error.

But .avi and .mov files can usually be whatever
size you want.

Is your 720p stereoscope for something proprietary?

why not have left and right 1280×720 videos?

I concur, the 109 is a great drive. I’ve been very pleased with its performance (and reading my DVD-RAM discs too)

at 47 dollars you can’t beat that!
