I’ve seen some selectable GOP options within compressor, set it for 6 and see what happens.

I did some further reading and found out about Disk Warrior.
If allowed me to copy the 2 projects back to my array.
Count me on the list of sworn users!

I don’t think FCP 5.x recognizes 60P from the camera via firewire.
If you capture it as HD uncompressed over component your in luck.

I setup and double checked everything.
All was in order.
The edit was done with a single 30 minute long clip that was copied from a firewire drive.
The file is anamorphic SD uncompressed 10-bit.
And the only thing to remedy the weirdness was checking or unchecking the 16×9 button on the setting of the sequence.
good to know I’m not the only one.

Did you shoot in 24p mode?
FCP 5.04 will not recognize it (if thats what you did)
But you can capture it with DVHS-CAP

adjusting contrast if you go too far or run into a buggy workflow (some say 10-bit can) you lose the shadow detail in your blacks so instead of seeing something in the darkness, it becomes pure black and you see nothing.
The opposite of this is called clipping and its the same deal but you lose details in whites and highlights in particular (aka blown out)

so does that put all the independent offline clips in a new bin or an existing bin?
