I just got the JVC HD200U Camcorder. I’m trying to go into FCP via firewire. It won’t recognize it. Is there a CODEC or setting I Have to install in FCP. I don’t see any HDV setting.
    Thanks in advance

Did you shoot in 24p mode?

FCP 5.04 will not recognize it (if thats what you did)

But you can capture it with DVHS-CAP

I don’t think FCP 5.x recognizes 60P from the camera via firewire.

If you capture it as HD uncompressed over component your in luck.

[Borjis] “I don’t think FCP 5.x recognizes 60P from the camera via firewire.”

That would be a QT problem and you are correct.

Funny, FCP can see it from the 50 series tape deck, just not the camera over FW.

Thanks for the tip Gary…I was not aware of that.
