    oops. wait a sec.

you did it with mpeg stream clip and it failed?

That should actually work. I’ve done that to multiplex HD video streams and had them air successfully on DirecTV, so I know it works.

What steps did you take that failed?

If its a simple thing of having them multiplexed and it isn’t too long, you could just author a dvd, then copy the .vob file and rename it .mpg

crude but it works, unless the file is split into multiple vobs then it won’t work.

if you have a pc in your office you can take the .mpg & .ac3 and multiplex it with tsmuxer or tmpgenc.

as long as the easy setup matches up with the format you shouldn’t be seeing that.

most decks (definitely hdcam and digibeta) have a “black” mode that can be enabled for tape blacking. thats what I do here.

You can look it up in the manual.

if that helps for a workaround.

How stable is Premiere Pro now I wonder. That has always been one of its weaknesses.

are you using a quick cluster? that will speed things up.

  • [Chris Dixon] “‘m loading media to a centralized server, as well as mirroring it to an external hard drive, both of which give me the same results.”

are you using gigabit ethernet to the server?

what connection type to the external hard drive?

I’m doing some sizeable xdcam hd projects but over fibre-channel raid5 arrays with no problems.

one thing that helps stability with xdcam and fcp is only having one sequence open at a time. have multiple ones open and beach ball crashes occur regularly.
