Never done it for ‘real’ (other than the brief test I just did), but you can create a preset in Compressor easily to create a Quicktime file in that codec.

A search in the Compression Techniques forum may yield some info.

[Shane Ross] “OK…I have been asked to deliver a project compressed with the JPEG2000 codec, to play on a projector that is designed to play that back.”

A projector that plays JPEG2000 — sounds like digital cinema. Are you being asked to supply a DCP package?

I was told it was a digital projector, and that I needed to provide a JPEG2000 file…that’s all. I’ll try to take to the facility to nail this down.

I think there’s a lot more to it than just spitting out a file (maybe, not sure). Every time we have to do this it’s for cinema, and I always pass these along to another post house. Usually just send out an HDSR.

    Absolutely.
I haven’t found any Mac solution for JPEG2000 DCI compliant compression.

Not sure whether Sorenson 5 or Episode can do the job or not.
But the key component to the JPEG2000 standard is the discrete wavelet transformation. It turns out that three discrete wavelet transformations are needed to compress the original image using the JPEG2000 standard.
