3 Way Issue
Posted by Gerry Curtis on February 14, 2011 at 5:53 amHi There,
I’m having an issue with the 3 way color corrector filter when applying to a clip that I’ve never had on previous computers.
After applying the filter to a clip in the timeline adjustments made with the slider controls update fine on the canvas and external monitor (via blackmagic 3d extreme) but when I try to make a hue adjustment by dragging the button the changes don’t update on the external monitor, only the canvas.
Thanks!
Gerry

That sounds like a problem refreshing the monitor buffer.
Try to play the sequence to refresh it, or in View > External video, try “Refresh A/V device”.

February 14, 2011 at 10:18 pmHI All,
Thanks for your suggestions! I’ve tried all of those things without success. Tried trashing prefs and repairing permissions for the hell of it and also have the same issue in a brand new project file.
The strange thing is that when working the sliders either by dragging them or using the scroll wheel the effect always updates instantly on the external monitor, albeit with a bit of latency.
Here’s the weird part of the behavior-If I drag one of the hue adjustments slowly it doesn’t update the external monitor. BUT if I grab one of the hue things and move it really fast to another section of the wheel it will update the external monitor. But of course when color correcting this is useless.
I’m working in Color all the time and never have any issues like this.
I have the snooty urge to blame the BM card, this never happened when I was on a Kona, but perhaps it’s some type of mouse thing?
Any other thoughts?

If you can, set always your canvas at 100%. If not, 50 %. This makes things easier on display too.

February 15, 2011 at 7:15 amThanks, Rafael. I think in this case it was a window out of place a bit. I apologize to my blackmagic card for jumping to conclusions.
