Probably around $2000, but I don’t recall for sure. We had it installed when we bought the deck.

It might make sense to just down convert the footage out of the deck and edit in SD. The deck can be set up to downconvert 4:3 so you don’t have to perform that “center punch” process later, and you’ll save a little drive space.

Was it red or magenta? Was the gradation you refer to from top to bottom, or side to side-in other words, was the color getting stronger at the bottom of the frame, or at the side? If it’s magenta, it could be a white shading issue which becomes more apparent when you’re zoomed in all the way.

There’s a forum at 2-pop.com (under “Professional Cameras”) that’s pretty specific to the SDX. Also, Goodman’s Guide is very useful.

Hey Guy!
Using the SDI input also gives you a sharper image with the SDX. Of course this means you need to use an SDX with the SDI card installed. Still, it’s way better than the composite input.

You should consider using an AC adapter to minimize the chance for camera movement when changing batteries and restarting. Quality is great though. The only significant limitation I’ve found is you can’t do super long exposures like you can with a film camera and a Norris.

That article is so vague, and it’s posted in what seems too be a SciFi fan website-nothing too technical. The link to SciFi Pulse is even more sketchy. Is there a chance that they don’t have a clue what they’re talking about.
