It might make sense to just down convert the footage out of the deck and edit in SD. The deck can be set up to downconvert 4:3 so you don’t have to perform that “center punch” process later, and you’ll save a little drive space.

Thanks, I ended up doing the down convert on capture, as suggested. Worked great.
