1920 x 1080 is not anamorphic. Did you collapse the multiclip when you were done with the edit?

The method that has worked best for me is to export a Quicktime movie of your HD sequence and take that directly into Compressor to do your SD DVD. Copying and pasting clips has caused all sorts of problems, and the end result isn’t any better.

I believe that the EX-1 and EX-3 shoot and record full 1920×1080 in the HQ mode, unlike the disc-based XDCAM cameras. Also, doesn’t the EX3 have 1/2″ chips, just like the EX1?

Shooting at 30p will give you that, especially if your pans are fairly fast. If you want perfectly smooth pans & tilts, try shooting at 720 60p.

Thanks Chris. So, I guess I can do that in Compressor, using the higher bit-rate Mpeg-2 preset, right?
What would you say would be the maximum program length for a single layer, and recommended bit-rate settings? -
Your preset must be radically different from the Apple preset, because it’s taking forever to encode a 5 min. piece.

I’m encoding right now using your preset. Technically, it should not work, because the spec says that for 1280×720, the frame rate needs to be 24 fps, and yours is 59.94. I tried that already, and it didn’t work for me. I’ll let you know how it works out. Thanks for your help.

If I don’t change anything, I get 960×540. That’s not HD.

I used the preset, but I changed the default of 960×540 to 1280×720
