Please clarify, Rafael. What Transfer Function are you talking about?

Yes, that article is my inspiration as well. In fact, I’m thinking about taking the big leap and attempting the installation of an internal drive.

Thanks for that, Don. Are you actually doing it successfully?

    Really!
I wish I could remember who posted that about there being no such thing as an SD Progressive DVD.
I also read here that HDMI will not transmit 24p signals. If that’s true, why would they make 24p DVDs?
So, should I be making all my DVDs progressive, if I’m shooting progressive?

Supposedly, Toast will do a simple menu. I intend to find out for myself very soon.

Eoin has produced a standard definition DVD. It is my understanding that the DVD spec for SD is interlaced, so, there is no such thing as a progressive Standard Definition DVD. In other words, whether you shoot in progressive or interlaced, if it is going to an SD DVD, it will wind up as interlaced. At least, that is what I have been told.

Thanks Shane. I currently edit with one monitor, so I have a free DVI port. With that considered, which do you think would be the better option? Is it true that HDMI will not display 24P?

I am also looking at HD monitoring options for my MacPro / FCP setup. Since I only work in XDCAM-EX and DVCAM, and do mostly industrials and event work, an expensive capture card like the Kona would be overkill for me. So, I am considering either the Matrox MXO / Computer monitor route or the Blackmagic Intensity (HDMI) / consumer HDTV solution. Any suggestions?

    Did you render?
Try speeding up the crawl just a bit, or using a bolder font.

It’s being replaced by the 24″ LED display.
