You can find the manuals for the various panels under “Support Notes”:
https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/detail/supportnotes?sid=3948&pid=4448&os=macI would love to see Blackmagic offer more customization and support for the Avid Artist pannels. I’ve got the Artist Transport and though it’s got some great buttons/features, Resolve hardly uses it.
If Blackmagic won’t enable those keys, at least allow me to customize it myself.

August 26, 2012 at 2:41 am in reply to: Monitoring a 2K Sequence via Delink to a 1080p MonitorYeah I realized I could do that, and it works, but I end up with a 1080p sequence and not a 2K sequence.
I want my end product to be a 2K sequence/file.
In FCP I could work with a 2K sequence but monitor at 1080. Is that not possible in Premiere?
Is my only solution to dram my 2K sequence into a 1080 sequence for the time being?

The RED Rocket only works on RED footage.
I would go for a GTX 580 if you can swing it. I get 24fps on fully debayered F65 material with 4-5 nodes of blur on a 12 Mac Pro using a single GTX580.
Though, the realty is the fps you see are more dependent on your CPU decoding power then the GPU in this case. Having a 580 will just allow you to process more nodes in realtime.

August 6, 2012 at 6:27 pm in reply to: How to Set Dual Monitor Display on DaVinci Resolve 9 Beta?I really wish they’d open the interface up for a little more customization. I wouldn’t mind moving some of the windows around or shifting them to the second monitor.

Hey Kevin,
How did you get the 680’s to work with Mountain Lion? Did Nvidia release a new version of their drivers or does the older version work with the 680?

Okay I did some more testing, looks like basic playback and export (for any of my test file formats (R3D, Arri RAW, Arri ProRes, F65 RAW) is dependent on the CPU and disk speed. Having multiple GPU’s isn’t going to help here.
Where the multiple GPU’s did kick in is having a bunch of nodes. I would get anywhere from 2x to 5x the amount of nodes (in this test blur) at the same max fps that I would get with only 1 GPU card.

No, using the full version Resolve (8.2 & 8.2.1 beta 4).
And it’s not GTX285’s, it’s GTX580’s (PC versions using the new Nvidia drivers for OSX)
For RED Epic footage I’m getting this in terms of fps (both 1 and 2 GTX 580 cards):
24fps – Quarter Good
18fps – Half Good
8fps – Half Premium-Chris

March 4, 2012 at 3:47 am in reply to: Please let us have separate Red settings for each instance of a Red ClipYeah I would love this.
Or even if it’s a tab in the main color interface. Such as the 3-way color or the curves tab.

Hmmm… when I try that nothing happens.
The “from” and “to” pre-populate’s with links to the Resolve app. I change them to my old directory to my new directory, hit “change” – nothing happens. Opening the tool re-populates it with links to the Resolve app again.
I’m running 8.2 b4, could this be a bug in beta 4?
Thoughts?
