It all is figured out except for the transitions not using the alpha channel when they are in transition. My background is white on the original storyline and it goes black as soon as a transition starts and turns back to white when the transition completes. Bug?

When you’re working with a client behind you, speed is an issue, going back and forth between 2 programs really isn’t what I want to do for simple compositions.

Yes I did that, but the transitions were still not right.

I do alot of retail spots with multiple layers and dve style transitions, I can make multiple layers and composite them, it only screws up when I try to do transitions, not just dissolves. Is FCP not where i should do compositing, or should i do it in motion? If that’s true, I’m seriously going to have to consider other NLE options.

Thanks Kevin for the quick response. I’d say I’d like to spend less than $10,000. Is that even realistic? I’ll check those suggestions out.

    Thanks again!

I bought Version 1 in the summer of 1999, it was a gamble at the time, nobody knew what it was. There were alot of other options at the time and we almost went with them when we started our production company. Glad we chose the right one back then, we were lucky. I really like FCP, and it’s only getting better.
