[Michael Gissing] “Apple do take the cake for reliably jilting their lovers. For some it makes the love affair deeper but for many they take their bat and ball and play elsewhere. “

I’ll give you Shake and Color… Maybe iWeb too. 🙂 But the fact that everyone got sooo upset about Apple “killing” an NLE that, 4 years later, still works just fine, and can still be obtained with a little digging is kind of silly don’t you think?

[Andy Field] “so if you’re in the DC area and are a FCP X whiz…this is an opportunity ..at least for this job and their client that insisted on editing with that program…..”

Maybe try asking this guy… https://fcpx.tv/contact.html

[Robert d'Alexis] “some uncomfortable reading though. :-)”

lol. He’s right though. I think if you actually use an NLE -any NLE – and are proficient in it, then bash away. If you don’t use it, then STFU. And as to the Facebook group well, a fish rots from the head down. The post in the article was from the guy who started the group. And, not that it matters, but there’s plenty of FCP X bashing from folks who use it in there as well… 🙂

[Charlie Austin] “2014 was fine, all other NLE’s / DAW’s are fine.

Not 100 percent sure, but it seems that rescanning/reenabling the audio plugins (all of which were disabled when 2015 installed) may have cured this problem. I’ll post back if not…

[Paul Neumann] “I don’t see the AU plugins in 2015. “

For some reason you need to go to the plugin manager and rescan, then everything shows up and you can enable them…

Hey, you’re right. Wonder if it just doesn’t see ’em, or if it’s by design. EDIT:they show up after rescanning for plugins… And the error message goes away…

[Paul Neumann] “I get that too on some projects. I’m thinking it’s the AU Filters.”

Could be, I haven’t uninstalled or installed any plugins though, and Pr 2014 had no issues. Be nice if it gave you a hint, that hex code is unhelpful…

[David Roth Weiss] “If you have an I/O device (AJA, Blackmagic) try uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling. May accomplish nothing, or may give you seamless playback again.”

Already done that… I may try reinstalling… it’s pretty annoying. Exports are OK, but when a client shows up it’s gonna kind of suck… 2014 was fine, all other NLE’s / DAW’s are fine.

Double click the center of the retiming transition… little pop up will appear and you can choose to move the edit point by dragging the little film frame handle…

[Jeremy Garchow] “Final Cut Legend still works to this day without an update since Feb 2010 across a few OS (and architecture) changes, and many hardware changes.”

I heard from somewhere or other that it still works in El Capitan. Funny how everyone got so mad at Apple for “killing” FCP 7 and “forcing” people to move to X or something. Still works pretty well for an allegedly dead app.
