The only thing I’d worry about is the nVidia thing, what GPU is in the iMac? Again, like anything, the stabilization/OF issue is anecdotal. If you can clone your current system as a safety net, I’d say go for it. 🙂

My guess is it’s something in the OS that needs fixing, and since it doesn’t affect how X works, they’re just sticking to the schedule. Or they don’t care – which I’m sure is a popular viewpoint in some circles – but I don’t think that’s the case. 🙂

FWIW, X is working fine with 10.11. There’s a little UI glitch in the TC window, but it doesn’t affect performance. However, *some* 3rd party plugins haven’t been updated, and there’s an issue with some macs with nVidia GPU’s causing crashes when rendering stabilization and/or optical flow.

I’ve actually found that taking the appropriate frame size preset from the Video Sharing Services Group, duplicating it and adjusting the settings gets really good results. Small file sizes (if that’s the aim) and really good quality… For what it’s worth…

Select it, and make it into a compound clip. It will then live in the browser for EZ reuse. Or you could export it and reimport it as a clip….

Really? Just for static cards or something? Were I to use an Adobe app for titles it’d be AE. I just do ’em in the NLE though, if the NLE I’m in can make decent titles. 😉
