Thanks for the reply. Please excuse my ignorance, but I feel the need to ask this.
The manual for the HVR-Z1U says it is 1080, 50i/60i/30F/25F record & playback capable.
The manual for the HVR-HD1000U says it’s HDV 1080/60i record & play.So should the shooter of the HVR-Z1U shoot in 1080/60i so I can capture it using the HD1000U ? And what template should I use in Vegas?

Try: In the pan/crop of a still, choose “match aspect ratio of project”.

As Ed said copy & paste the keyframes. To do this open the track motion then right click and drag the mouse over the keyframes then let go and choose copy. Move to the point in the timeline where you want to repeat them and choose paste.
Taa-Daa, your done.

Also, if your looking at a DVD you made, be sure the properties in DVDA and also set to widescreen. I assume your viewing this on a widescreen 16:9 TV.

Since I had problems with Panasonic tapes, I only use Sony. I’m curious about the Sony VX2000 recall you mentioned. I have two of them, can you tell me more about the recall?

Hi Mike. I am using the same JVC set up as you. Computer–>firewire–>JVC deck–>S-video–>HDTV monitor.
I have not edited any HD only SD. Does this setup output HD?
Do I need something else for HD preview?Charlie

Vegas is my only NLE since Vegas-4. At this point, only editing SD. I rent or hire shooters with HD cameras to shoot HD jobs.

yes, sorry it puts the timeline counter.

another way that I like to use is to put a “title text” event on the top track. That way you can either put in text like “Draft-1” and position it anywhere on screen or not have any text at all. Put the timecode on this text track.

Great stuff, I knew you must of had a few stories out of this production. As a fellow Texan, I hope we can work together some project. I will definitely keep you in mind for any work in the DFW area.
