No. The camera converter does not alter the video signal as it passes through in any way. You will need to change the computer’s display settings to output 1080i (try setting the computer to 1920×1080 29hz interlaced)

For extracting audio from HDMI you can get a Kanexpro HDRGBRL. For SDI you can get a Blackmagic SDI to HDMI converter which comes with 1/4″ TRS audio outputs

I have streamed with both an Intensity Shuttle USB3 and Teranex 2D. Once I switched away from FMLE the problem went away.

August 27, 2014 at 8:07 pm in reply to: Problem Digitizing Video8 Tapes with Decklink HD Extreme 2Does the EV-C100 have a built-in Time Base Corrector? If not, you need to get one. Tape is notorious for having unstable “sync” due to the aging of tape and the nature of analog technology of the time.

It sounds like your design may need a little work. You really shouldn’t be using so many converters, or splitters. I’m going to guess that you were trying to split an HDMI laptop signal to a projector and the TVS and/or using HDMI cameras. Both are a bad idea and add unecessary cost. Though I personally would never buy a TVS due to lack of AUX output, I’m sure there are quite a few people who would be glad to take it off your hands.

August 26, 2014 at 10:42 pm in reply to: ATEM for multi cam live streaming and long cable runs? anyone with experience? You’ll be lucky to get HDMI to work at 30 feet, much less 200 with the ATEM (or most other switchers for that matter). It can be done, but it is finnicky to say the least. I strongly recommend going with native SDI cameras for no other reason than the fewer cables / converters you use the less than can go wrong. The Blackmagic Studio camera is probably the least expensive SDI camera available that has the necessary features for doing live events; that consumer / cinema style cameras don’t have. Though viable lense options are limited.
Also, if your cameras are going to be that far away, have you though about how you are going to communicate with your camera operators so they know when they’re live and what to point at?

I’m pretty sure the output signal via SDI cable is always 59.94 or 29.97 fps. There is no 120fps flavor of SDI as far as I know.

No. The UpDownCross mini converter only cross converts within each standard (NTSC or PAL). So you can go from 720p60 to 1080i60 (or vice versa) or from 720p50 to 1080i50 (or vice versa) but not from 1080i60 to 1080i50. It WILL however let you Down convert from ANY HD format to either SD PAL or NTSC, which you could then use another miniconverter to up convert to your desired format, but that would obviously result in a loss of quality.
