  • Advice on 5.1 surround setup for the decklink extreme 3d

    Hi

I’m looking to get some powered 5.1 monitors for my edit/grading station and would love some advise on both speakers and connecting it up.

    Here’s my set up:

Mac pro running FCP7 and Da Vinci Resolve with Decklink Extreme 3d that drives a Panasonic grading monitor over SDI and panasonic plasma for clients over HDMI. The panny grade monitor also outputs SDI to win7 pc with a decklink Pro card to drive Vidscope scopes software.

I’m not looking for an amazing set-up as I won’t be doing any 5.1 mixing just need to hear it.

    Thanks
    Michael

You could use HDLink to get 6 discrete audio channels out of the SDI-stream. From decklink you only get 2 ch analog audio out.
I think this is quite cost effective way to get surround sound out.

    best,
    Mihkel

I have a Decklink 3D+ Card and want to be able to monitor video to my FSI SDI monitor and monitor 5.1 sound.

Can I run the SDI out of the DeckLink to the HDLink SDI in and then get the 5.1 sound out of the 6 RCA ports. And run the HDLink SDI out to the SDI monitor?

Yes. It looks like that’s what the HDLink is for.
