I’m seeing some judder. If that’s what you’re reffering to as flickering and you rendered that out in 24fps. Frame rate will have everything to do with it 😉

I guess you can have 3 instances of the plugin with 1 texture in each and using it’s matte capabilities to exclude the unwanted sides but that’s too much of a hassle to get a simple spinning cube.

June 10, 2013 at 5:23 pm in reply to: How to make custom shape Trapcode particles build a 2D shapeneither particular nor form will be able to make exactly that. Particular can have custom particles form a custom shape, but then you can’t change this shape with those same already emitted particles.
If you can fake some of it(let the particles die and emitt others, or fade in/out) you may be able to do that with particular alone.
The only other way I would know of to do it flawlessly would be within cinema 4d. But if you’re not familiar with it, I’d suggest you try the faking approach first.

The roto brush tool does exactly that. Though I wouldn’t call it “a fix” because there’s a lot of manual adjustments to be done when using that tool. And it ain’t begginers friendly. You should see some tutorials on it and try it out. There’s no other way to do what you want but to manually mask the actor out(roto tool in this case will assist you with that)

Not at all, you explained it perfectly.
As far as I know of, AE doesn’t let you set spatial interpolation per its In or Out state of keyframes. So yep, you gota change the curve through the viewport. It’s what I do in this case. But never once I got to the point that I coulden’t (visualy) zero out any wiggle in an animation.

Well I’m having a hard time figuring out where you’re stuck. But from the description, I would rotoscope the actor within AE with its roto brush tool (have you tried that?). Then track the feature to be replaced.

there’s a preset on particular that’s called fireflies or something like that. Pretty close to what you’re looking in terms of movement if I remember right.

unless you get someone to do the same thing with a bunch of colered balls around them, there’s no automated way to track it.

there’s no automated way.
You can either draw the mask yourself or you can open this generated masks…to do so select two vertices, right click go to “mask and shape path”, and then “closed”.
