Use a particle generator plugin if you have access to a decent one. You’ll get a greater level of control and a faster response over duplicating stuff natively on AE.

[Reynier Aquino] “My drivers and Element 3D versions are up to date”

I’ve figure this much but as I said, maybe try to downgrade. I’ve had older versions of E3D working better than newer ones for specific things.

I’ve also had older nvidia drivers being able to render some frames (although crashing eventually) that newer ones wouldn’t.

But what I would do first and foremost is to try to see is things work in another machine (to try to exclude HW and drivers from the equation). Preferably one with a nvidia card.

    Sure, your timeline should be:

    Null 1
    controls rotation Z

    Null 2 – Parented to Null 1
    controls rotation Y

    Null 3 – Parented to Null 2
    controls rotation X

Now go to your X,Y,Z stardust properties, and link them (pick whipping) or copy paste, w/e you prefer to Null 3’s X, Null 2’s Y and Null 1’s Z respectively

How are you sequencing clips? Because that is not the default behavior AT ALL. I’m not even sure how I’d do that if I want.

Because the XYZ rotating isn’t linked in the plugin (your definitely not the first person to be bothered by how AE handles that).

If you parent/child three nulls. And use the first(child-most) for X, the Second for Y and the third for Z. You could link the properties to each transformation and the particles will match the rotation of the first null.

Now the question is how are you animating the model, and can you change your workflow to that?

I’ll be honest, I’m a little old school, can’t say that I’ve used track mask before (I’m more of a mocha guys for that stuff).

What are the outputs of the tracked mask? Isn’t there any transform information?
What/how are you linking the screen to? And why isn’t it working? What’s happening?

Maybe some screens with properties expanded?

  • put it first in the timeline stack and add an adjustment layer under it.

That can be caused by a lot of things I guess.

You could try updating/downgrading gpu drives.
    Updating/downgrading Element versions.
Rendering out the texture map to a sequence (ram issues).

But you should really be asking this at the Videocopilot’s E3D help forum. If anyone saw this before it would be them. Maybe send them a mail?

That is exactly what the screen blend mode is supposed to do, remove blacks. If you think it should look different perhaps remove black using an effect (UnMult) and adjust the alpha with a curve.

    I guess you’re just a white belt at Google-fu?
