Hey Bret, I don’t get to push the buttons as much anymore ☺ Didn’t want to do the replace file thing because I still needed the original but just thought about the fact that I can duplicate the project first. Hope to save some time tomorrow.

    Cheers,
    Burt

Looks like a good product but I’d rather not spend 499 EU. Does log and transfer not see this portion of the metadata?

“Sorry, I guess I’m confused. What is the problem you’re trying to correct again?
You wanted 60p footage but seem to have shot it in 24p? If so, are you working in a 720p60 project with sequence and AJA output set to match? “

I’m trying to get this footage looking it’s best. Right now whether I set the composition to 24 or 60 fps the image is losing crispness. I’m figuring that’s because of either not having enough frames for the 60fps, or having too many for the 24fps.

“Do you have any way to view the MXF files in quicktime, frame by frame just to see exactly what you have without FCP’s help?”

    How could I do this?

It’s not playing back overcranked. Audio sounds normal, speed is normal. I don’t know whether its adding frames in the viewer, or subtracting frames in the composition. I’ll try running it through compressor.

“Did you shoot 24p (over 60) so it has the look of 24p but with pulldown to fill out the standard 720p60 signal? ” -Yes

I had “Record Format” set on 720P/60P and “Frame Rate” set on 24FRAME. Just looks a little blurry.

Thanks Walter, but I forgot to mention that I had tried 1 and 2 as well. Same problem. This is not the error that occurs when you use the wrong exchange format. And I’m getting the same problem when trying to reimport in to 6, so that’s not the issue.

Or use Cinematize. I’ve made my $60 investment back several times over.

I see these drops a lot from VBR on computer playback. Is it doing the same on NTSC? If not, lower the compression rate and they should dissappear. not a great option, but it works.

    Thank you John.

That used to work for me, but not since 5.0 (I think). All I get is a greyed out “no shortcuts” pop-up when I control click on the tracks column. That is what I used to get with digitized material (fair enough because it’s already been recorded) but now I get it with un-digitized stuff.
