I am trying to export a Project via XML so I can open a FCP 6.02 project in 5.14. When I try to import the XML I created, I get an error message “Errors Found Importing saab burt 3 xml.xml (name of project)
(file): Unable to create (file) as no (name) or (pathurl) is found.( line 1493 )”

Even when I try to import the XML on the machine that created it I am exporting on, I get the same message. So the problem is in the export, not the import. I have the browser selected and nothing highlighted when exporting. Any ideas? I am using Apple XML interchange format 3.

[Burt Holland] “I am using Apple XML interchange format 3.”

Use 1 or 2. Anything beyond that, FCP 5 versions can’t open.

Thanks Walter, but I forgot to mention that I had tried 1 and 2 as well. Same problem. This is not the error that occurs when you use the wrong exchange format. And I’m getting the same problem when trying to reimport in to 6, so that’s not the issue.
