We moved it over to CS3 and still crashing.
Hey, we’re Santa Cruz too!
Send me an email off list, like to find out what you do.

Thanks for the response.
We tried bringing in the AEC file separate from the render with no success. We also made a separate project where we removed all the lights, took out half of the nulls, and exported the AEC file, still crashed AE on import.
Can you import an AEC file without the associated rendered image sequence?
Thanks,

I did Google it, and there were a lot of different options, hence I asked for a recommendation.
Call me crazy but I don’t always believe everything a website says, so that is why I often look to Creative Cow, because maybe somebody has actually used the software. If you feel like it was a waste of time, then why did you respond?
Thanks to everyone for their recommendations.

Hey Everyone,
Thanks for all for all of the recommendations. I decided to go with Studiometry which met a lot of my requirements, networkable, track multiple projects, multiple clients, multiple rates, and has timers and other time tracking features.
Now if I can just get it to export invoices to Quickbooks!
Thanks,

Kristian,
I still get the lines when I play off the local drive of the MacPro. There are no lines visable in the canvas window of FCP. I also discovered that I am getting the lines via the component output of the HD Extreme card as well.
I am running DVCProHD 1080i 59.94.

Just double the audio clip in the time line. By stacking the same audio clip you can get a pretty good boost.

Sorry the for the typo, the OS 10.4.4

Do you have After Effects running at the same time? I get this error when either FCP or AE won’t release my Blackmagic card when switching between aps.

Thanks for the luma matte tip, I’ll give it shot.

Thanks for the responses.
Walter – Your suggestion that the levels may have been to hot or that I was over saturated was my initial thought as well, and I did test on an external scope and everything was legal. One thought that I had was that because there have been some gama shift issues in going between FCP and AE, that upon importing into FCP, that would boost my levels beyond legal values.
I could not export a DV file because I needed the alpha channel, if I don’t need an alpha channel, than I always go with a DV export. And I do agree that you get a much better result when you export DV out of AE, but what if you need an alpha channel? Do you have an other codec recommendations besides animation?
What I ended up doing was using Automatic Duck out of FCP into AE and add my titles to my footage in AE, and then exporting a DV file. But that was much more time consuming, as opposed to just laying down the animation where I needed it in my timeline.
Anyways, I appreciate the input.
Thanks,
-Bryan
