HD Extreme
Hello and thanks in advance,
I recently installed an HD Extreme card in a MacPro and am having an issue with the DVCProHD codec. When I use this codec I get very thin vertical lines in my image. It is almost a vertical venetian blind effect. My signal chain is HD Extreme card – Workgroup Video Hub – HDLink – Sharp Aquos 42″ display. I do not get this problem with component video or from my other BlackMagic cards. We have three other stations running various BM cards, I sent them the same video footage via the VideoHub to the same display with no problems. So I have isolated the issue to the HD Extreme card in the MacPro.
I installed all of the legacy drivers with no success. Again, this is only with DVCProHD via HDSDI. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Here are my specs:
MacPro 2.66 running 10.4.8
HDExtreme Card running Decklink 5.8 Universal Drivers
Final Cut 5.1.2
XSan 1.4.1
HD Link running current drivers

Hi Bryan,
Are the thin vertical lines showing up in the Canvas window in Final Cut Pro as well or only on the HD Extreme’s output?
Is this 1080 DVCPRO HD or 720p? What framerate is it shot in?
Is the same thing happening when you move the file off the Xsan and play it off your internal drive of the Mac Pro?

I still get the lines when I play off the local drive of the MacPro. There are no lines visable in the canvas window of FCP. I also discovered that I am getting the lines via the component output of the HD Extreme card as well.
I am running DVCProHD 1080i 59.94.
