Thanks Brad. I’m a pedantic sort of chap and try to follow all instructions for these things. Did that with Stabilize and as you mentioned I did go through the Media FX drop down. Zero I’m afraid. Maybe I’ll try a re-installation.

I have gone from Vegas 9 to 11, so I can’t comment on the difference between 10 and 11. However I will tell you that I haven’t been able to get stabilization to work for me AT ALL in Vegas 11. And there has been very little input from the forum on this new version.

I’m working with Vegas 9 now until the update comes out.

Yes Mark. I was very careful with the instructions and went the Media FX route through the Project Media tab. I get the Apply button, no problem…it’s just that nothing happens (besides an on-screen flash) and my video remains as it was.

I’m hoping it’s a bug that will be fixed in the update and not because I don’t have an “approved” video card.

So if I understand you correctly, if I have a Countryman EMW mic with a 3.5mm locking plug on it that is sold by B&H as a Sennheiser compatible mic, and another identical Countryman EMW mic with the same locking plug, but sold as being a Sony compatible mic, these two mics “should” be interchangeable between transmitters given that they should have the same three (or two) wire construction to their respective cables.

Or am I still missing something?

Just a little clarification please:
Is it a difference in impedance between the mics? Would you mind explaining just why they can’t be swapped? I’m afraid I’m really a bit challenged in this regard.

Also…does this mean that the same mics attached to two different transmitters will have completely different characteristics? I understand that certain transmitters will operate better that others in transmitting the signal, but do they also alter the way the mic performs?

IE: If I have identical mics on two different transmitters, can I expect a reasonable sounding match, or not?

Like John said, a good fluid head…and lots of practice.

Can’t say that you would be able to achieve a decent rock-solid ending using freeze-frame, as not only would you see a slight jarring effect when you freeze the shot, but you will also lose any movement that may be happening inside your frame.

If there isn’t going to be any movement within the frame, another idea might be to simply use a still photograph (wide shot) of your buildings and create your movement by using pan, tilt and zoom effects within Vegas itself. You can then control any movement by using key frames and smooth them out as you prefer. Won’t get much more rock-solid than that.
