rename .MOD file to .MPG for importing to FCP6/7 with Log and Transfer.
For FCPX, you can directly get the MOD or renamed MPG to FCP X for further editing

I’m sorry. As far as I now you can’t keep the two audios at one for editing in Premiere Pro CS5.5.
You can connect the Avid’s customer service to solve it.

I edit EX1 footage every day natively in PPro CS3 and CS4…no conversion is necessary.Really?
How did you do it? With a Plugin? I can do that and I have upgraded to Adobe PPro CS5.5.
What recorded video format by your Sony EX1? .MXF or .MP4?

I like the Panasonic GH3 camera, it supports four video formats with multiple resolutions:
QuickTime:[Full HD] 1080 60p/30p/24p, HD 720p
AVCHD Progressive:[Full HD] 1,920 x 1,080, 60p
AVCHD:[Full HD] 1,920 x 1,080, 60i,24p
MP4: [Full HD] 1,920 x 1,080, 30fps, [HD] 1,280 x 720, 30fps, [VGA] 640 x 480, 30fps
I can freely get the file as I need. Learn more: https://plus.google.com/u/0/108211695888090524386/posts/28LjS5bYM15#108211695888090524386/posts/28LjS5bYM15

You can follow the guide: Convert 5D Mark III H.264 MOV footages to ProRes.
The best settings:
If your H.264 resource file is 1080p, pls set the video frame rate as 30fps, video size as 1920*1080 to keep the best quality.
If your resource file is 720p, pls select video size as 1280*720.
The Best codec for choosing:
Apple ProRes 422 – Higher quality than Apple ProRes 422 (LT)
Apple ProRes 422 (HQ) – Keep original video quality for editing in FCP
Apple ProRes 422 (LT) – Get a smaller file sizes than Apple ProRes 422
Apple ProRes 422 (Proxy) – SD levels – 480i/p and 576i/p. Used in offline workflows.
Apple ProRes 4444 – Edit and finish 4:4:4 material

Hi, dear Swanson.
As far as I know many users meet the similar trouble due to they used Avid Media Composer with the old version 5.0/5.5. You’d better upgrate Avid to 6.0 or 6.5.
If you want to use an easy way to solve the trouble, you can convert AVCHD .mts/.m2ts to a native fomat, DNxHD codec file, for directly transferring to Avid MC 5 for further editing.
Have a good time!
