Did you ever figure out a solution to this? I’m in a similar situation myself. I have phonemes in a precomp and am trying to use time remapping to cycle.

I’m still not sure what was the issue, but I went back to the original project that I exported the camera from and reexported preserving only the channel data and the new scene pulls into AE just fine.

Two and half years later I’m having this same issue. I’m not sure what you guys mean by “references.” My scene has a camera with baked keys and an aim null also with baked keys. After Effects just doesn’t like it.

Thank you very much. This successfully pulls the maximum value and since it’s opacity, the minimum will be zero. Just for curiosity’s sake, how would I extract the minimum from this expression should it differ?

I converted to ProRes 4444, did the effects work, then delivered to the editor. I’m not sure if they continued to work with the 4444 or down converted, but I would imagine they kept the ProRes files.

For anyone else encountering this issue, it appears to be a problem with how After Effects interprets footage using interframe compression such as AVCHD. Pulling it into CS5.5 produced better results, but still not optimal.

I converted a sample clip to ProRes 4444 and have received much better results. However, ProRes 4444 results in much higher file sizes, so now I’m pursuing an alternative codec.

Thanks! This appears to have solved the issue.

Just figured it out guys. “if” cannot be capitalized. Hope this helps someone else.
