I already told you how to do it, with most files to change the properties you right click on it, in this case right click on it and select Save As

I wasn’t suggesting that you recapture the whole bloody shooting match, just a small file of the proper parameters for test purposes.
I assume that AFX is on the same machine that you are having problems with, there could be damaged codecs or other pertinate files that could possibly be corrupted so anything generated on that machine could be suspect.

Does the MX 02 mini work ok with win7? supposedly Matrox is not making any claims about this and saying new drivers are coming soon, any insights? -

I think this is self explanatory “Canopus hasn’t had drivers for Adobe products since Ppro 1.5” The only exception to this is for AFX or PS if you have newer GrassValley hardware.

The reason for this is to have a clean file for CS4 that is in the proper format, not one that is converted or an unknown leftover, this gives you a test base to establish whether or not you have other problems in your system

Canopus codecs wouldn’t work in CS4, you have to load drivers for Ppro to use Canopus codecs, Canopus hasn’t had drivers for Adobe products since Ppro 1.5, Having Canopus/GrassValley codecs on the same machine as Ppro CS4 should not be a problem, I have CS4 and Edius 5.12 and associated hardware on the same machine, and haven’t noted any problems to date
If you use scenalyzer to capture, use a OHCI firewire port and capture to the listed “Premiere/vegas type 2 DV.avi”, I use this flow to capture DV on a older computer(also Storm2) to external drives to use on the other machine with CS4 and not tie it up with capture chores. -

When you say you used Ppro CS4 to capture, what was the preset that you used for the project? I assume that the cam was a HV10/20/30/40 and what format did you shoot in?[michael gerace] “video: nero video decoder
-type: vlc media file”A vlc media file just means it will play in VLC player which I assume you have on your machine it can be any one of many files, try using something like Gspot to idenify the file.

When you say so far, how far is that? right at the begining? midway? toward the end?

Large codec packs can cause problems, usually are unnecessary as most editors come with the codecs that they support except for things like quicktime and 3rd party intermediate codecs and they are tested for use with their listed NLEs

Have either of you gentlemen run a memory checker and also check the harddrive where you keep your apps for bad sectors.
