November 11, 2009 at 12:20 amHi, thanks for writing back.
Here is the information I can gather about the files:
-they are named .mpeg
-audio codec: mpeg audio decoder
-video: nero video decoder
-type: vlc media fileI captured all of the footage using premiere from a canon hdv mini dv.
The computer:
200 GB memory still free
3.50 GB ram
2.66 GHZ processorFiles play on windows media fine. They worked with premiere for weeks until I finished and attempted export.
thanks again

November 11, 2009 at 12:29 amNot to solve this problem. I asked because I had the same problem on two different machines where there was a conflict between Premiere, Cineform and Quicktime. If I uninstalled Quicktime or Cineform the problem would go away.
One thing that worked when I had that problem was holding down the shift key all the time Premiere was starting. That would reset some files in Premiere and my problem would go away. You might want to try that and see if it works for you.

When you say you used Ppro CS4 to capture, what was the preset that you used for the project? I assume that the cam was a HV10/20/30/40 and what format did you shoot in?[michael gerace] “video: nero video decoder
-type: vlc media file”A vlc media file just means it will play in VLC player which I assume you have on your machine it can be any one of many files, try using something like Gspot to idenify the file.
