If you are working with DV its a 720×480(ntsc) frame whether it 16:9 or 4:3, if its a 16:9 it has a different pixel aspect ratio 1.2 vice .89 for 4:3, if you are looking in a photo editor they are usually setup for square pixels so you have to adjust the aspect ratio to get a proper image.

I use the MX02mini(NO MAX) with a core2 duo laptop for edit monitoring on a hdtv and live/recordered capture through HDMI, was able to cal the monitor fairly decent, at home I use it for a three monitor setup, only con is the laptop input adapter is a express34 and it fits loosely in the express54 slot on the laptop and can come loose, cured easily with a strip of scotch tape, major cripe is with the laptop manufs, one express card slot is a loser, most old laptops had at least 2 PCMCIA slots, also bought a express card adapter for a desktop and the laptop adapter works ok in it. any particular info I can try to supply

The firewire drivers in win7 have been updated so of course they are the latest, thats the problem, sometimes you can go in a change drivers and load the generic legacy driver and cure the problem, its just as easy to delete the firewire driver in the device manager and let win7 reload the driver with the cam on when computer is restarted.

I usually buy cables from Newegg, haven’t got a bad one yet, usually read the reviews to find consistenly bad stuff

There is a problem with what firewire driver win7 loads, this may not solve the problem for some but it does cure for others.

I have tried to resize the photos to 720×480 in an external program”If you are trying to make a 720p HD video you should be resizing the pictures to 1280×720 not 720×480 which is DV not HD, to check your product you should view on a external video monitor at the proper viewing distance for the TV or video monitor’s size.

You seem to be confused between what a M2T style file format is and what a .m2t file extension is, HDV as its refered to is a format used by Sony, canon and others to record Mpeg 2 in Transport style packets to miniDV type tape, when Adobe transfers the tape data to a computer it adds a .mpeg extension to its files for computer use.
If you need further you need to do research, one place to start is Adobe and seach for “primers” another place is wikipedia, search for mpeg2, hdv, transport stream, etc. -
A catagory-2 (hi-speed) HDMI cable is usually good up to about 50′ specially made cables can go upto 100′
I have a intensity pro in one of my computers and have no problems running win7 with CS4 4.2
CS4 works ok with AVCHD but you need a computer with alot of horsepower, and or use a intermediate codec like Cineform Neoscene

The Canon HV30 is HDV on miniDV tape, if captured into Ppro it usually is a .mpeg file, if you are have .M2T you captured with a 3rd party software/hardware which maynot be totally compatible with Ppro, some M2T files can be proprietary, Ppro will recognize M2T files from Sony HD Harddisk cams, no other type listed, check your Ppro help file for allowable file types, other types can be iffy.
