Matrox MXO2-mini on a PC with CS4
Trying to get some feedback from anyone who has used the MXO2-mini with CS4 on a PC. Looks like a perfect solution to make HDV editing more efficient (by not editing in HDV), and help out with AVCHD and h.264, until such time comes as we all have CS5 and CUDA cards that is. But even with CS5 you still need a way to have monitoring.
Feedback and opinions appreciated.

I use the MX02mini(NO MAX) with a core2 duo laptop for edit monitoring on a hdtv and live/recordered capture through HDMI, was able to cal the monitor fairly decent, at home I use it for a three monitor setup, only con is the laptop input adapter is a express34 and it fits loosely in the express54 slot on the laptop and can come loose, cured easily with a strip of scotch tape, major cripe is with the laptop manufs, one express card slot is a loser, most old laptops had at least 2 PCMCIA slots, also bought a express card adapter for a desktop and the laptop adapter works ok in it. any particular info I can try to supply

how is the Matrox I-frame mpeg-2 codec to work with, vs native HDV?
what are you using for storage?
have you used the uncompressed HD option?

Haven’t tried it yet, just finishing some projects up, I’m going to try it with NeoScene, I-frame, and mjpeg, I’m going to be moving stuff between machines, and want to find file types which will work with all the software and different hardwares.[Mike Cohen] “what are you using for storage?”
Mostly external eSATA raids so I can move drives between machines[Mike Cohen] “have you used the uncompressed HD option?”
Not yet and probably not, 10 bit 4:2:2 Should do just about anything I want. -
is Neoscene a better option with the MXO2-mini than just the Matrox codec alone?
