I can’t see a way to get anything into the Trace Link either. Not even an Object you can drag into the list. I searched around a bit and the question was asked a year ago too but no answer there either…
Import your movies as a series of stills, Export from Quicktime 7 as Movie To Image Sequence, import the first into a material and Hit Calculate in Bitmap Shader
Yeah, texturing a Sweep cap is a problem if you animate the sweep since the texture attaches to the origin which stays still spatially but the sweeping end is moving through space, so any texture which is not a flat color won’t look right. One solution to this would be to separate the text from the green ‘fill’ and sweep the text and the fill along copies of the same spline. start the text a bit ahead and finish it a bit ahead.
you can do it with a Loft. Put the inside and outside pair of a character into a Loft or do a Functions/Connect on the inside splines and the outside splines (separately). However, your splines need work. To work well at all the splines (and the embedded parts too) need to be going the same direction (blue to white/white to blue whatever as long as it’s the same) and for best results should have the same number of points. I fixed the P to work well in this example – assuming that’s what you meant by bevel.
if it’s a built-in parametric spline (like “Circle”) just change it in the Attribute Manager. If it is a spline you made by hand, or made editable or imported you have to rotate the splines axis with the Object Axis tool. 90° around the Y-axis probably.
