Hey guys — I’m a very basic C4D user. And I’m probably trying to do something basic – but I can’t seem to figure it out.

I am trying to recreate a logo that has a bevel on it from PSD. If I use the path shape for the outside of the logo, extrude it, then apply a fillet, with hull inwards and constrain checked. It is close – but some screwy things happen. If I use the path shape inside of the logo, extrude it and add a fillet, again it is close but not perfect.

If I bring in the two splines, set the outside back in z-space. Is there a way to combine the two spines so that it creates the arch(bevel) between the two?

I’ve never really modeled things from scratch. So I’m stuck. What am I missing?

I assume each of the splines is on their own layer right?

Yes, I separated them into layers.

Heres what I have. I just want to connect the two and create a bevel between them.

you can do it with a Loft. Put the inside and outside pair of a character into a Loft or do a Functions/Connect on the inside splines and the outside splines (separately). However, your splines need work. To work well at all the splines (and the embedded parts too) need to be going the same direction (blue to white/white to blue whatever as long as it’s the same) and for best results should have the same number of points. I fixed the P to work well in this example – assuming that’s what you meant by bevel.

That’s it exactly. Thanks Brian. The 0 is the the one that is most tricky – with the arrow cutting it off.

I found a great tutorial describing what you mean… for those of you in the future who google this question!
