  • are we looking at the Pollen Protein object? It has different settings for the Metaball object (Editor 4 Render 5- also true for the Mast_Cell metaball) and the Subdivision Surface (Editor 2 Render 3) — unless those numbers are the same you are always going to have differences between what is seen in the editor vs the render. Usually the editor settings are for less complexity so editing speed is better but you may need it to be the same. If that’s not it you’ll have to tell me which part is changing.

  • probably not going to be able to tell about what’s happening without the scene file

well, on a Mac, rock solid excepting for the occasional 3rd party plugin which can cause trouble particularly with new versions of C4D (when some plugins will have to be recompiled for the new API). Judging by the threads, pretty much the same on the PC side but more trouble making sure your video card drivers are correct but that’s fairly normal for any 3D program. But that’s just watching the threads…

I would stick with the OSX drivers (at least for now) – I have a PC nvidia in my Mac and was running the nVidia drivers but it’s more stable with the OSX drivers – started in 10.9, 10.10 was good now running well in 10.11 GM

I’d probably have to see the scene file to be able to tell, I’m probably making wrong guesses about your construction.

I’m guessing you want the frame around the head to be cut by the wings. You can put a boole inside a boole so copy the wings (make the depth big enough to cut the box correctly) boole the wings from the box (or boole Union them together if the shapes overlay the right way) and put that boole in your boole group from the card.

maybe use the Dynamic On/Off in the rigid body tag – if you turn Dynamic to Off it will return to it’s original position over the length of the Transition Time – if you enable Dynamic Transition just above that it will do it dynamically (with collisions etc.)

nice, I saw the earlier version with xpresso but missed this. Doesn’t allow alpha in the middle of a poly though only a gradient across a full poly so if the object has large polys anywhere the alpha is limited to poly size.
