the image needs to go in the bump channel – just try it on a cube with default (UVW) mapping, but to control where it goes you will have change the mapping and/or limit the bump to only one face with a selection.

ah, no time sorry until tomorrow at least. Yeah spline wrap will bend it noticeably if it’s long in a dimension… I miss MSA sometimes. You could use a Step effector and control visibility of clones that are already there with the Min and Max values in the Step/Effector tab

Adam might know a better way.

that’s exactly what you should get, default grey. If you want color you can Use Color in the objects Basic tab in the Object Manager (this is temporary, it only shows in the viewport but does not render).
If you want color that renders add a material.

is the sound uncompressed? How are you trying to use it? Can you post a the sound (or a bit of it if it’s large).

    from the Help

    “Sound Formats

The following native sample sizes (with arbitrary sampling rate) are supported for sound files:

    8, 16 and 24-bit
    WAV Import

Only uncompressed WAV files are supported.
Markers included in the WAV files are imported into CINEMA 4D.
    AIFF-Import

Uncompressed Mac sound files are also supported.
    QuickTime

Furthermore, all sound files with formats other than those listed above and available in QuickTime can be played back if QuickTime is installed, i.e., *.mp3 and *.aac files.

Internally, these will be converted to 44.1kHz in 16-bit and saved within the Project file.”

use a Spline Wrap deformer to attach a linear Clone setup to the spline (Spline Wrap/Object/Axis needs to be set to the direction the linear clones are adding) and increase the number of clones in the cloner to add more along the spline.

  • not the I know of, it doesn’t help now but the longer the render gets the more reason there is to render to an image sequence rather than a mov or avi so that in a crash situation you only lose one frame

yes, very easy to find. I just looked inside the object where the loop ended unexpectedly

there’s an extra poly inside which is breaking the continuity. And one on the other side too.

  • yes, that’s right – though the black and white are default but it’s possible to invert that in the Alpha channel if you do have an alpha channel which is “backward” without having to redo it
