Hi Brian,Thank you for attaching subsystem report. I have verified the subsystem report, Found that PD1 marked as dead due to multiple bad sectors and Need to replace the PD1.
Pitty is I bought it only a week ago. Followed the set up instructions to a T. They created an RMA but won’t ship me the new drive until they receive the old one. So I just decided to return it to B&H and I puchased an OWC 12TB RAID for $800 cheaper. I was just hoping on the thunderbolt accessibility. This OWC drive has eSata, FW800 and USB 3.0 . I’ll probably go with USB 3.0 . I’ve also had issues in the past where a Lacie thunderbolt to eSata hub was quirky. So I’m not sure the thunderbolt technilogy is where it needs to be yet. Seems like quite a few others are having similar issues that I’m finding in reviews and forums.

Alex, I purchased a Pegasus R4 and am very unhappy with it. Locks up my system, hangs.. Sent a report to Promise via the Promise Utility and they said there is a bad sector in bay 1. They offered to replace it. I’ve only had the array for one week. I asked them if they were coming out with a fix.. but there was no response there as it obviously is a connectivity issue. I’m thinking of sendign this back to B & H today and was looking at the Lacie or OWC arrays that have USB3.0 connectivity. What do you suggest? USB3.0 should be fast enough for animation and video editing in a RAID 5 configuration? thanks.

January 14, 2013 at 3:21 pm in reply to: edit Canon 5D footage natively in PP CS6 on Macbook Pro?HI. I purchased an 8TB Pegasus R4 Thunderbolt RAID array from Promise Technologies. I’ve had it a week and am looking to return it to B & H today. My system has failed to boot several times. It locks up the computer and even sometimes when the computer boots the drive hangs. I sent in a service request to Promise and they requested a system report which I sent them via the promise utility. They came back saying there was a blown sector in drive one (the thing is one week old) and they would send out a drive replacement. I have the latest firmware and thunderbolt drivers installed. Promise never addressed my issue of whether they would have a download fix comign in the near future.
Can anyone suggest a replacement array for the same price or less? Looking at Buffalo and LaCie. I htink I want to go USB 3.0 instead of thunderbolt. Using OSX Mountain Lion.
thanks.

John. Ambient sound would be great… which of these have a built in mic. that doesn’t need to be anything great. But if they did interviews with people in the field. Just quick stuff, be great if they could plug a handheld into the thing. Can’t remeber if I saw any of these with XLR inputs.. what do you suggest? Ife we needed to keep it low budget.. what audio opitons would be available. For instance this one person helps folks in Haiti and if she interviewed man on the street or just had handheld to speak into why another person was shooting, that owuld eb the ideal. Most of this stuff would be shot outdoors anyway. thanks!

if you pull footage into a fresh sequence it will ask you if you want to convert the sequence to the footage, in which case it will convert the sequence to ndf or df to match the footage

I found these and they are very very nice. They are not transitions but they work as composites in PPro.. but this is one of the best things I’ve seen yet as far as look. It’s a little back-doorish. But they are nice.
