As you’ve mentioned, ensuring the frame rate and PAR match from Mocha to After Effects is essential for correct application of the tracking data.

    Here are a few suggestions:

Has the video been scaled in After Effects?

The Comp frame rate may match Mocha, does the Interpret Footage match?

In Mocha, does the Clip Tab report frame rate and PAR correctly.

It’s currently not possible to have particles with 3D extrusion in After Effects, you may need to wait for AK’s Element.

You could use a plugin like ShapeShifter or Zaxwerks Invigorator to generate extruded 3D shapes in AE but they couldn’t be used as particles.

I suspect its the .M2TS format combined with Twixtor that is generating the error.

Since .M2TS is a compressed format and doesn’t really contain frame information but instead is composed of GOP’s Twixtor may not be able to decode the GOP to produce the frames it needs to work with.

Try converting the .M2TS to an AVI or QuickTime and apply Twixtor to that.

Here it is in AE with another background (not black):

Now is the time to use the Matte Choker on the image to remove the halo.

[Paul Hanssen] “I tried with Mattes, but some how i do not succeed.

You’ll need to isolate the birds somehow. Either by creating an alpha matte from the color information (do a search for Shift Channels), or rotoscoping the birds which may be next to impossible depending on the number of birds, duration of footage, quality of video, (interlaced or progressive) etc.

    [Andy Engelkemier]
About the write-on though. I didn’t realize animating the brush size over time doesn’t change the size over time. It changes the brush size and All previous brush strokes at the current time. “

You may be able to use the MiniMax filter set to Minimum and then ad a blur to it.

Use Radio Waves (Effects >Generate>Radio Waves) and set the shape to a 4 sided polygon then rotate it 90 degrees.

You can animate the frequency, expansion and colour of the waves.
