    Hello all
This is my first post in this forum.
    I have two doubts.
    1) How can I create concentric squares with animation like this

    2) How can I create a perfect circle/square in a comp with a non-square pixel aspect ration? Even when I press shift while creating the path, it appears stretched.

    Thanks

Use Radio Waves (Effects >Generate>Radio Waves) and set the shape to a 4 sided polygon then rotate it 90 degrees.

You can animate the frequency, expansion and colour of the waves.

As Brian has suggested, Radio Waves will do a good job. Shape Layers are also worth a look into.

As for your perfect squares and circles, stay away from non-square PAR comps – it’s really as simple as that. IOW, stay away from working in non-square PAR comps. All it does is to create lots of unwanted issues.

However, if you must work with non-square pixel aspect ratio comps, make sure to toggle the pixel aspect ratio correction switch.

Indeed. It’s right below the comp viewer and it looks like this:

meh? I’ve never had a scenario where I’ve had to work within the confines of a non-square PAR comp. Even AI provides for only square-pixel PARs presets. Photoshop still allows for non-square PAR presets but I think that may go out of the window in due time.
