I’m not entirely sure how this should look. When I open the file the adjustment layers are at the bottom of the layer stack, a technique with which I’m unfamiliar.

What about an adjustment layer?
Or a Parented Null Object that controls the layer’s effects?

Which effect are you applying?
If you’re using a layer with the Ramp effect applied as a control layer for an effect, you need to Pre-Compose the Ramp layer for the effect to “see” it. Otherwise it sees the layer without the effect applied.
This has to do with the After Effects Render Pipeline or Render Order. Since all compositing is the result of calculations, just as in math there is an order that operations are performed. To pass the Ramp pixels to the effect you need to pre-render the Ramp which is done by Pre-Composing.
Select the Ramp layer and from the Layer menu choose Pre-compose.

[Jerry Yang] “say i want it to show for 3 sec and disapear for 5 sec and show again
for some time.”Keyframe the opacity value of the layer. Zero opacity = invisible layer. To avoid ramping the layer up and down use hold keyframes.
It sounds like you could benefit from some After Effects basic training.

Hi Raj;
Very cool animation well done. My suspicion is that this is clever shape animation with faked 3D elements from Photoshop and Illustrator. There are a couple of tutorials online, I’m looking for the link to one but cannot remember where I saw it.
You might want to check out the https://www.mattrunks.com/fr
There is an English side to the site now https://www.mattrunks.com/en
with some free tutorials, I’ve been a fan of Mattrunks since the site launched.

July 26, 2012 at 8:26 pm in reply to: Continuously rasterizing pre-compsotions with vectors makes them disappear in 3D space?Could you post a screen shot of your After Effects workspace?
Do you have a camera in the master comp?
Does the nested layer have 3D enabled?
Are the objects in the nested comp in positions outside the master camera view?
Are you looking at the Active Camera or a Custom View?

Here’s the thing. USB 3 speeds are a theoretical 5GBps, I’m not sure that even a Thunderbolt SSD would be faster.
Nor that the current price premium on Thunderbolt products is worth the current 10GBps theoretical difference. The SSD would need to read and write faster than either of these interfaces.
My understanding is that the current TB implementation is over copper, not fiber optic, so its doesn’t yet achieve its potential.
I’ve got an external USB 3 SSD on my Macbook Retina, and its read/write is 190 MB/s – 175 MBs for a 512 MB 1920×1080 10bit RGB video frame.
I have an internal SSD on my Mac Pro that AECS6 uses as a cache and its about as fast as a 7,200 SATA 3 RAID 0.
Don’t get me wrong, Thunderbolt is an amazing technology, as more devices become available, it will get better. I look forward to that day.
The USB 3 Drive I’m using cost under $200, I bought an empty case for less than $25 and a 240GB drive for $169.

July 20, 2012 at 3:13 pm in reply to: After Effects presets not animating in Bridge CS6That’s odd, I just check and Bridge CS6 shows animating presets for the ones that animate, i.e. text presets, backgrounds etc, not sound effects.

[Steven J Casey] “Side note, I’ve contacted Zaxwerks in the past and literally never received a response, yet their software has been 9 times trouble to 1 time working.”
Have you ever tried the Zaxwerks forum? I’ve always found the people at Zaxwerks quick to respond both on the forum and directly.
I have no affiliation with the company, just a long time satisfied customer.
