There are many linking options. Linked, stereo linked, and linked selection. Which are you referring to? If it’s just linked, not linked selection, then turn that on by pressing the linked seclection button in the upper rt hand of the timeline. You probably had it off, which means you have to hold down option to select them together. If it’s on, you have to hold down option to select them separately.

Press ctrl+q and choose the correct easy setup. That configures everything except for user prefs, which have nothing to do with hardward, sequences, etc.

I’ve found the best is to shoot with a slow shutter. 🙂 But try those plugins.

I guess my question would be WHY do people up rez to HD? I realize that HD sets playback SD all the time. I’ve seen it and it looks like crap. Especially on earlier sets. Looks like a lot of pixel doubling.
Is it better to uprez it with FCP so the set doesn’t have to do it?
If the sets have to do this all the time and it’s a look people are used to (they play 16:9 SD DVDs all the time) then why do it? Why not just burn a 16:9 SD DVD and play it back on HD system just like everything else.
I guess I was thinking you were going to shoot SD, blow it up to HD and pass it off as HD material. I can’t see any other reason to blow it up. There’s no way to actually add quality by doing so.

Runs fine on Safari 1.3 on a dual processor G4. I’m running OSX 10.3.9
I noticed occasionally the links don’t have a finger, then I’ll mouse over again and they do. But they work either way.
The “free tour” link didn’t work, but I was unclear if that was a link or the title to the pull down menu below it.

Do you have the exact same amount of physical and virtual ram on both machines? If you’re running out of physical drive space, or you have less physical ram, then there would be a lot of file swapping onto the hard drive. Make sure you’re running the same apps as well of course.
Ever play with the computers at the Apple store? They are the slowest, boggiest things I’ve ever used. Apple is really doing themselves a disservice at the stores. For example, they have their imac G5s so loaded with stuff (and a hidden backup) that there is only 128mb of space left on the drive. Now these machines are only running about 512 meg of ram as well, so the minute you launch any app but a word doc, you’ve got to use the hard drive as ram, except there’s no space on the hard drive! Open 2 apps and you’ve pretty much shut these things down. They should at least stock their store units with huge drives and maxed ram.

Your choice. It’s all going to get rendered to your media drive before output, so it won’t be playing it rt.
