  • Linking Mini DV clips???

Posted by Andrew on August 4, 2005 at 12:00 am

    Hi,
I’m having trouble with MiniDV formatted footage in FCP in terms of editing the video and audio together. I have elected the ‘link command’ but the files won’t become one in order to cut up.
Is there something else I need to select???
    Thanks

The audio is sound synce from camera? If it is, then turning on linking should do the trick… have the files become unlinked? i.e. when you turn linking on, are the names of the audio and video clips in the timeline underlined?

There are many linking options. Linked, stereo linked, and linked selection. Which are you referring to? If it’s just linked, not linked selection, then turn that on by pressing the linked seclection button in the upper rt hand of the timeline. You probably had it off, which means you have to hold down option to select them together. If it’s on, you have to hold down option to select them separately.
