You can also simply fill the page with single frame .movs that when clicked launch a movie it’s place. Don’t really understand how it works, just copied the code from apple years ago. The only issue is that if they decide to click another clip they would then be downloading 2 at the same time. Even if they paused the first. But that would be the same issue with an iframe.

That would have no effect. Super-White only controls what is CREATED in FCP. If you have the broadcast safe filter applied, then it should still do it’s job.
I still think it could be sequence settings. Did you check the sequence settings for your current sequence, or did you check the overall sequence settings. It could have been turned off for this particular sequence.
Does it render any OTHER filters?

In your sequence settings, do you have filters unchecked in the render control tab? That would sure be the problem.

I think the whole thing basically boils down to that if you own a G5 quad, there isn’t a huge reason to jump to the MacPro until Adobe get’s it’s apps out.
Unless, like myself, you’re still running a Dual G4. And since I’m editing DV and doing web design and a little AE rendering (not much) it’s still hard to bring myself to drop the cash.
But the MacPro is such a cool machine.
I find Macs are useful for so long I skip entire processor lines. I’ve yet to own a G3 or a G5.

Walter, FCP rendered at the same speed on a Xeon 2.66 as it did on a slower G5. Both took 167 seconds. So, mhz for mhz the G5 was faster in that application. In other words, if a 3ghz with the same cache version of a G5 existed, it would be faster or equal.
Obviously the xeons are kicking some butt on the Adobe code, and for some reason the imovie and filemaker code. My point was the FCP code. The gains on many of the apps are most likely attributeable to the superior cache/bus of the new machines. But as far as processors go, the Xeon isn’t that huge of a performance boost. A better design that runs cooler and utilitzes more cache yes. A better roadmap with more options and more ghz yes.
But the point is that for FCP users that already have a quad 2.5 – going to a quad 3 xeon is a minor jump for FCP, while going to a 2.66 is a sideways move. One that we’ll all have to make, but waiiting for the 3.5ghz or rev b hardware might be a good idea.

Why wouldn’t it run on a G4? FCP 5 runs just great on a G4.

You would simply have to reexport the reference movie to the same name. AE simply looks for the QT, then QT looks for the media links.
I’m with you. Use self contained unless it’s just ungawdly huge.

I don’t buy that. Narration should be mono, but I think if you want to go to the trouble it makes the audio a lot more realistic if you pan a little bit but not completely.

Search engines… do a google for free search engines or check with your web host. They usually have a preinstalled search engine. Search engines aren’t really a DW function. They’re a program installed on the server. Whatever program you find and use will give you a line of code to put into your web page. Check with google and other search engines too. They may have a free engine you can configure on your site.
Login is even tougher. Depends on what you’re looking for. If you just want to password protect your site or a directory, look into .htaccess. It’s a file called “.htaccess” that is installed in the directory on the server. You have to edit it and configure it to make the folder password protected. The browser will do the rest and ask for a login and password. Once again, not a DW thing.
