The only other thing is down the road use external media (don’t import into the library). That way if library A shares with library B, there won’t be any duplication of files. And don’t optimize media unless you have to. That is what is eating up your hard drive space. Use proxy if you need it for performance.

  • The only custom masks were via the draw mask. I thought you weren’t seeing masks at all.

Obviously they reviewed a slightly earlier build where there was also a button to toggle.

  • No, every effect in 10.3 has built in mask functuon (like Premiere) and has since 10.2.something.

If you put it in smooth, then move the little bezier handles on the in/out points as close to the keyframes as you can without creating a curve, then it does a decent easing. It appears that Apple thinks it’s cool to bundle together temporal easing together with spatial bezier curves and call it “smooth.”

I guess they want you to show audio lanes instead. Which is only useful if you’ve diligently marked all your roles correctly.

If you compound the whole project, the roles get broken out into separate audio components. You can then mix them as roles. A step in the right direction.

Using keyboard app shortcuts in system prefs I’ve mapped my “compositing” workspace to F13. That’s a single button. But yes regular single button characters are disallowed. Probably because they assume you’d use them for typing and app shortcuts aren’t modal.

  • You’re trying to cut a video clip on a subframe level. Expand the audio or components and only cut the audio. But it’ll have to be out of the primary. You can’t blade expanded component audio on a subframe level in the primary. You can however trim the audio on a subframe level in the primary.
