  • Have you used this footage in any timeline? Once you do, you can’t change the Source Channel Mappings. A workaround I found that doesn’t require finding it in the timeline is to make the clip a subclip, then you can change the mappings.

But it’s not conforming audio with footage shot on this camera at all, whether capturing or recapturing. When I capture any footage from any other camera, it conforms audio after capture. Why is it different with this footage? Also why do I have sluggish performance? I don’t have this performance problem when using footage from another source.

    Steven,
Thanks! But what are the effects of having no cfa’s? And why aren’t the cfa’s for this project being automatically being recreated?

after more digging… I have a pek for each reel and waveforms show up in my timelines, but performanced is slow and I can’t find any cfa’s for this project (I searched all the hard drives).

after looking into this more, I’m missing any .cfa files. I’ve tried changing my scratch disk location and re-opening PPro, but it only recreates .pek files. Also, when I play in the timeline it’s sluggish. I have defragmented recently, so performance shouldn’t be a problem.

What a painful problem. So when you listen to the clips outside PPro, they sound fine? When you import them into a new Project, they work fine?

I’m not sure I understand why you need to separate the audio from the video. The method I talked about means you don’t need to. Why not do it in Source Channel Mapping? As far as exporting the clip, you place it in the timeline, go under File, Export, Audio.

What about exporting an EDL and creating a new project and trying it there? I think I had a very similar problem in the last month, but my brain is shot after my RAID array died last week. Good luck!

I think I’ve had the same problem…try creating a new Sequence and copy and paste everything from the no sound Sequence into the new and see if it works.
