I deleted my media cache files and I’m assuming this means I deleted my conformed audio. I only have a few clips that show up with waveforms in the timeline. I’ve tried deleting the media cache files folder again and clearing the media cache database hoping it would reconform automatically, but it hasn’t. It only brings in a handful of small .pek files. Is there a command to force audio conform?

    Thanks!

after looking into this more, I’m missing any .cfa files. I’ve tried changing my scratch disk location and re-opening PPro, but it only recreates .pek files. Also, when I play in the timeline it’s sluggish. I have defragmented recently, so performance shouldn’t be a problem.

after more digging… I have a pek for each reel and waveforms show up in my timelines, but performanced is slow and I can’t find any cfa’s for this project (I searched all the hard drives).

CFA is no longer created for all audio. Only when needed. And audio from a captured video does not need it.

    Steven,
Thanks! But what are the effects of having no cfa’s? And why aren’t the cfa’s for this project being automatically being recreated?

Premiere Pro 2.0 only conforms audio that it needs to conform. So in the new project, since there is no need for them, so they don’t get created. It isn’t a mystery. They improved the program. That’s all.
