  • conforming audio from PD150 in PPro 2

Has anyone had problems capturing footage shot on a Sony PD150 into PPro 2? I capture footage shot on a PD150 into PPro 2…it captures fine, but it will not conform the audio. I capture footage shot on a Canon XL1 (in both cases using a Sony DSR30 as the capture deck) into the same project and it captures and conforms fine. What’s really weird is I don’t think I had this problem with the same PD150 footage, same project, same source deck when I was using PPro 1.5.

Can anyone confirm that it’s just my isolated insanity? I started a thread a couple days ago about reconforming audio. But I started this new thread, because it’s not the problem I first thought.

    Thanks!

Premiere Pro 2.0 no longer conforms depending on the type of footage you are capturing. What are your project settings and the audio settings of the PD150?

But it’s not conforming audio with footage shot on this camera at all, whether capturing or recapturing. When I capture any footage from any other camera, it conforms audio after capture. Why is it different with this footage? Also why do I have sluggish performance? I don’t have this performance problem when using footage from another source.

Hmm..What are your shooting properties? What is the audio rate?

16-bit, 48k, video is 29.97 miniDV. The audio sounds clean and consistent throughout 14 hours of footage.

I am fairly sure that audio conformed with no problem using the same footage in PPro 1.5, because I have a conformed audio file from this same footage and project that I captured before I upgraded. I’ve also tried capturing and recapturing footage from this camera in a completely new project with the same lack of audio conforming.

    thanks!

    Brett,
Premiere Pro 2.0 no longer conforms audio. Can you hear the audio OK when you are playing it within Premiere Pro?

    Thanks for your response!

Premiere Pro 2.0 no longer conforms audio.

Steven mentioned previously that 2.0 conforms audio, but only as needed. When I look at clips captured with XL1 footage, each one has a .cfa file. But none of the 14 tapes I shot with the PD150 have generated .cfa’s.

I do hear audio, which sounds clean, but performance is very sluggish.
